Village Host Pizza - San Luis Obispo

The restaurant is always reliable and delivers delicious food every time I order. I highly recommend trying the Hoale if you enjoy pineapple on your pizza!

When our food finally arrived, the pizzas were burnt and not fully sliced. The butter knife that the staff member suggested I use wouldn’t even cut through them, so I had to use my pocket knife to cut the pizza myself. Frustratingly, my kids wanted to play a few games in the arcade, so I asked a staff member if I could get some quarters. Instead of helping, she snapped back that there was a quarter machine inside the arcade. I wasn't aware that I had to get the quarters from there, as at previous places we’ve visited, the cashier handled that. All of this for over $60 in food, and I felt like the staff just didn’t care about the customers. They were constantly yelling for one of their female employees, completely ignoring us. Even asking for a to-go box seemed to annoy them. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, one of the cooks made fun of my kids. He loudly commented about a man walking down the street who appeared to be homeless. The cook yelled to the other employees that he was "watching" this man, who was just minding his own business across the street. It was embarrassing for the elderly gentleman, who did nothing to deserve that treatment. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I ordered the Village Combination pizza, and it was perfectly baked with a delicious crust. The portion sizes of the 8 ingredients and cheese were quite generous. The pizza was ready right on time, just 20 minutes after I placed my order. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
