If you truly want to be a good noodle place you have to have that flair for having the right balance of flavor and consistency. For me portions were good but I can understand why others feel it’s small. The ambiance is cute it’s more of Hole in the wall feel. I gave it a 3 star because service is not up to par and food could be more authentic. We had to ask and waved our hands to get the servers attention. The male server you can tell he wasn’t happy to be there. He was short and I felt rushed when I was ordering and if you want to make a good tip. In this business, you got to show you care.
The server was really really nice. The noodles are just really really bad. But the pork dumplings sauce was good.
The food we ordered was very salty and overly loaded with ginger. We also ordered chowmein it was burned and again very salty. No a good experience. Don't recommend this place at all. The waitress was handling money then crossed over to serving not using hand sanitizer or washing hands. Gross for sure.
I found this restaurant through online information and decided to visit. I sat by the window, which allowed me to immerse myself in the ambiance of Eastern culture in this charming city. I started with the pork dumplings, and I was pleasantly surprised by the tender, delicate wrappers and the chili oil sauce; it made me feel like I was in paradise. After I finished the dumplings, I moved on to the noodles, which were perfectly bouncy and delightful. The experience was quite reminiscent of my time at Axia. I will definitely return next time!
Mee Heng Low is truly an extraordinary place. It stands out as one of the best spots in San Luis Obispo, offering delicious food, wonderful people, and lively music. I hope it stays around forever, and I will continue to share my love for it with everyone. This place holds a special place in my heart!
