The farm is not too far from San Juan and definitely worth the drive into the beautiful mountains. They have a restaurant which we did in, and a cafe where you can sit outside on the deck and watch for the peacocks. There are many cute relics like old farm equipment and the place is just really charming and peaceful. We did not get the full tour due to the rain, but they gave us a half price tour with all the same information. The only problem was getting to the restroom from the cafe area as they would not let us cross the restaurant but we had to go all the way around the building, even when the restaurant was open. Maybe they could provide a restroom closer to the cafe as this was taxing on my senior citizen companion.
Food was good but I was unsatisfied when I ordered an iced coffee. It was $6 and it wasn't even cold, it was watered down and when I asked them to blend it they were rude and told me that costs extra. For being coffee growers, I expected something at least better than Starbucks! Anyway, the grounds were beautiful and the fried cheese dumplings were amazing.
We had latte and hot chocolate at the cafe. We took the tour and lived our experience. From reading other reviews we decided not to eat at the restaurant, so can't comment on it. The tour guide Maria was fun and explained things well and made everything interesting. She was well acquainted and knowledgeable on all things coffee and made sure to tell about how they process their own coffee and how to look for good coffee beans. We had coffee shots at the end and this was the first time we loved a coffee shot without milk and sugar. We ended up buying a small bag of coffee beans too.
By far the best part of our trip Recommend you take the tour before your morning you'll learn so much about all the effort going into your morning Joe. Not your average cup of coffee...so far from the usual. You will actually taste the authenticity guides are bilingual and they take the time to explain everything and answer all your questions. Suggest you wear comfy clothes and shoes as you'll be hiking up some slightly steep hills and it rains often so it might be slippery. Pack a poncho and a water bottle. Once you're done with your coffee, definitely purchase a bag or 2 or 3 of the fresh coffee! They'll ground it and pack it up right in front of you and bag will still be warm as you're leaving we had a quick lunch at the restaurant right next to coffee house. I wish they'd had a few more food options and mimosas but overall everything was pretty good.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent coffee and brunch options, you can get a guided tour of the facilities and learn about the process of coffee production, there's also a very cool bar and ample parking, I definitely would recommend you visit!
