フィードバックを提供するWe ate here with our group on an Exodus tour. Great dinner. Huge portions. Friendly staff. Short walk from Park Inn other hotels.
Excellent service though it was not busy at 7:15pm on a Friday evening. Excellent tenderloin steak and good size portions and cooked very well.
We went on a Friday evening and restaurant was very quiet. Got very attentive and friendly service and the steak was wonderful, melt-in-the mouth meat. The waiter suggested that 'rare ' in Costa Rica is 'blue ', so I went with medium-rare which was cooked to same degree I would expect in UK. So would not suggest changing your usual steak cooking preference if visiting from UK. Sides not so great with vegetables a bit hard and bitter, plantain very dry. Had empanadas to start with and they were tasty. It 's not a cheap meal, mind you very little is in San Jose.
We ate dinner at Tierra Gaucha. We started with sitting outdoors in the back patio area, but it was so windy that night we moved to indoor seating. Very accomodating. We had great service and a friendly, helpful server. We ordered the grilled octopus as an appitizer, which was amazingly fresh. The restaurant uses imported meat with Argentine cuts. The Premium Lomito was so tender it melted in your mouth. The Brochete mixta was 2 full skewers of meats and vegetables which I couldn't even finish. We were happy to find this is the place to go for excellance. It was our favorite dinner during our week in San Jose.
We were a group of 8. We were given our private dining area which was great. We arrived at 7:45 but had to wait well over an hour for our food to arrive. This was because another group had arrived ahead of us. The tenderloin steak was very tasty and tender. One of our friends had ordered surf and.turf and found the steak to be very chewy. The waiter started clearing our plates before we had all finished and was asking if we wanted dessert. We said we would like to finish the main course first and have a 5 minute break. We were told this was not possible as kitchen was closing and the restaurant closing at 10. It was only 9:30 and we were eating late because we had to wait so long for our main course. Two of us decided to quickly have a dessert; the chocolate mousse was delicious despite not being a mousse! This was our last meal together having had a wonderful holiday in Costa Rica and it was a shame that the poor service in this restaurant left us with a bad last experience.
