Straits Cafe Santana Row - San Jose

Great place, good vibes nice music with delicious Asian fusion food! We went there for dinner in a large group and the service was amazing! Super fast. Food is good we ordered roasted cauliflowers, veg fried rice, corn fritters 4/5. Roti prata was average Brussels sprouts, crispy calamari and garlic noodles we the best! Watermelon mojito and Sangria were good too! It’s a little bit on the expensive side, but overall worth a try!

It was almost as though the food arrived within seconds of the waitress taking the order! We ordered four appetizers over two rounds; they both arrived hot and fresh very quickly. The size of each appetizer was substantial, so I was surprised to see that the shrimp entree was relatively modest sized. There's good music in the background and a nice selection of cocktails. Great place for a quick bite with lots of variety!

Very nice restaurant with great ambience. Lively environment and vibe was very cheerful. Food was decent. Quantity is sufficient as well. Nice place at Santaana Row.

Bad customer service. Tasty food. Avoid the Blonde hostess at all means possible.

We ordered eight appetizers; most were acceptable, but the spring rolls were particularly unappetizing. For our main courses, we ordered four dishes, and unfortunately, neither the beef nor chicken tasted fresh, though the sea bass was quite good. When it came time for coffee and dessert, the coffee arrived at a lukewarm temperature, and we were informed that none of the three desserts we ordered were available. To top it off, there were not enough teaspoons for our coffees. Frustrated, we canceled the coffee and desserts and decided to leave. Having dined at Straits for lunch several times, I had assumed their dinner service would be equally competent, but I was mistaken. There were too many issues to attribute the blame solely to the server or kitchen. It seems Straits needs to seriously evaluate whether they can function effectively as a bar and restaurant rather than just as a bar.
