If both are filled, we have worked in the neighborhood in the past. Not sure if it's legal but we had no issues. Environment: the restaurant is sectioned out into 3 spaces. All are separated by a large wall that looks like a library. Decor looks great imo. Food: we got the bone broth and the medium spicy hot pots. Woo! Medium spicy is plenty spicy for me as that stuff creeps on you quickly. I make my standard sauce, equal parts soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, chili oil with a touch of sesame oil and cilantro/green onions. Meats are boiled at your own pace. Decent quality. Service: service is fast and attentive. Most of the employees speak mandarin and it's the easiest way to communicate with them. I would recommend going with someone who can show you the ropes the first time. Overall, great restaurant. A bit on the higher priced side. But we enjoyed it very much and will be returning soon. Bill was $140 for everything.
Very authentic hot pot. Snack bar is definitely a plus! But finding parking was terrible. Make sure you take Uber there !!!
I went to this restaurant with two friends on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded even at 6pm, so be prepared. Masks are required but once you are inside, it is not enforced to wear them, which I wish they would especially in the sauce and snack bar areas. Even though the case numbers are low, we are still in a pandemic and precautions should be taken. There are no barriers between tables/seating areas, which I think should be in place for safety reasons. There is an open bar for the sauce and snacks area where you can choose your veggies, meats, and seafood. The waiter/waitress was attentive. At times, you can smell the chili, which caused the customer at the next table to cough because of the strong smell. The meat and fish balls were good and fresh, and the veggies were also fresh. Overall, it was a good experience but the restaurant should prioritize customer safety, especially in the open bar area, by enforcing mask-wearing since the food is out in the open.
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The authentic Chinese hot pot with a variety of meat options was superb. The only thing missing was Tsingtao beer. Aside from that, everything was fantastic. I am already looking forward to returning again!
This is the best hot pot restaurant in San Gabriel, with high-quality, fresh ingredients.
