Mexicali Taco Co. - San Gabriel

I went here because I needed to grab food quick. I had order a loaded fries (carne asada fries) and a tostada bowls which I mistaken from a Yelp menu I saw. I thought it was a traditional flat tostada. Simple with meats and cheese type. The bowl has beans, lettuce, sour cream, guac, and al pastor. So having had order this tostada bowl it was way too much food for me. The loaded fries were not bad, but I always prefer shredded cheese versus a nacho cheese sauce. It just made the fries soggy. Otherwise I would order again and ask for shredded cheese next time.

Got me some dorados and a shrimp taco. I saw their DTLA location while driving and got curious. Then I read about them on the SGV Eats FB page. Then when I got a discount card for local busineses in the Rosemead/San Gabriel area and saw they were on it, I just had to go down to try. Man! Was not expecting such great food! Potato tacos hit the spot and the pickled red onions on the shrimp taco? Wow. Not pictured was the canto-style al pastor cause I ahhnilated it. The guys that worked there were very helpful with menu suggestions and they served me fast! Will definitely be back!

This place isn 't even worth the one star. My sister was in the area and decided to order some nachos, saw the pictures and thought looks good . We wanted carne asada extra $3, okay... want quac another extra $3. Geez, wtf. The total came out to $21 plus tax. And let me say this isn 't even a full order of nachos it was a sad little less than half serving of nachos. On top of that the carne asada that we paid extra for was barely there. The guac that we also paid extra for was the tiniest little cup. The taste was subpar, lacking, and overall just sad. Also while we were eating we found a chip with hair layered between the cheese. Delicious... There are better places to try, it 's overpriced and lazy.

The best place pass by and said lets see how good mex will it be ,,,,,,wow delicious the best taste ever the employees great job good service to ion thank you i enjoy the place !!!!! please come support the new location make it a new hang out place !!!!!!

Came here a couple of times and all our experiences were good! So far, we have tried Carne asada fries (so good , Mexicali tacos (chicken, al pastor, and shrimp tacos , dorados (chicken and potatoes. Good stuff , burrito and cachetada w/ al pastor ranchero style (with an egg and their Vampiro lunch combo. This place really exceeded my expectations!Here are my top choices:1. Cachetada with al pastor, ranchero style. Ranchero egg. (So delicious 2. Carne asada fries (the steak was bomb 3. Potato dorado (better when it's still hot. Don't forget to dip in the sauce. So good 4. Vampiro lunch combo (It's like a quesadilla w/ cheese, so tasty All in all, tasty place. I especially love their asada and al pastor. They also have pretty good combos for lunch specials (available from 11am-2pm, Mon. to Fri. Enjoy!
