La Panistera

La Panistera es una especie de oasis de la panadería en Campeche. Ninguna otra de la ciudad hornea los panes y croissants que se hornean aquí. Su dueño y su chef son franceses afincados en la ciudad y han traído consigo todo el conocimiento, gusto, refinación y calidad de las típicas panaderías del país galo. Desde que uno se acerca a la entrada ya es invadido por el delicioso aroma de la masa recién horneada y que inevitablemente invita a entrar. Si eso no termino de convencerlo, el sólo apreciar las delicias que tienen expuestas lo obligará a querer probarlas. Unas palabras de precaución: Sepan que probar los panes de La Panistera provoca fuertes e incontenibles deseos de seguir comiendo y genera adicción a largo plazo. Así de deliciosos son sus productos!

Small please for a quick bite! The staff is very friendly and attentive. We had sweet bread and coffee everything was delicious.

What a little gem m! Best brioche with chocolate and the focaccias are sublime! Had breakfast here and we kept on ordering!

Disappointment. Hoped to purchase a few baked goods, though 3/4 of items named on the large board behind the counter we're not available. Chose 3, but as I was about to pay noticed small ant-like flying insects weaving about the pastries. When I mentioned it the young girl mumbled something I couldn't understand. I glanced into the bag and saw the creatures crawling around, returned them and asked for my money back. How you can allow a case full of baked goods to be open for invasion I do not comprehend.

My partner and I popped in for coffee and pastries this morning. We loved the interior (it's very sweet and nicely decorated) and the girl who served us was wonderful attentive, friendly, smiley and just lovely. We ordered a couple of pastries and two cappuccinos. The pastries were good, though not outstanding, but the coffees were dreadful. The coffees were made with a nespresso style machine rather than barista style but even still. The cappuccinos were served in glass cups, watery consistency with no foam. At first we thought that the girl had just forgotten to change the coffee pods (accounting for the weakness of the coffee and it's watery appearance) so we were going to ask for replacements until we saw the customers on the next table had coffees identical to ours. Neither of us drank ours. They were the worst coffees we have ever paid for (and, actually, worse than most free ones). Pop in for a pastry but don't touch the coffee.
