Surprisingly very good Chinese deli place. I love their steamed fish, not usually see that in deli. They also have dim sum options, clean and fresh food overall. Good for a quick grab!
Even though it says temporarily closed, Lee's Deli is open! I came Thursday around 8:30am to grab breakfast--it's hot bar style where you pay by the pound $10.50/lb), with both American and Chinese offerings. I got a cha siu bao and 2 sticky rice dumplings and it came out to just under $5. The food itself is probably around 3-4 stars: I slightly preferred the cha siu bao as the dumplings were a bit too greasy, but both were pretty standard no-frills dim sum. 5 stars is for location: I would not go out of my way to go here, but Lee's Deli just happens to be 2 steps away from my office and its dim sum is a homely and much-appreciated breakfast alternative to the $10 bagels and $6 lattes in this area.
The frozen dim sum ordered online and then delivered is really good. All you need is a steamer, and you have a wonderful dinner. It seems the food from the restaurant has mixed reviews on yelp, but whoever is making the dumplings, is a pro. Delicious. Especially the creamy custard dumplings. We will be ordering again. A nice varied dinner option for COVID days of our lives.
Love the delivery service of their dim sum. No msg! I also love the fact that you can donate a meal or two to health care workers during this pandemic time. We love the dim sum, shrimp Harlow, pork dumplings , rice balls, cha siu bao, nai wong bao, etc. The convenience of having them frozen and popping them in a steamer is just what we wanted. They are flavorful and large. They deliver on a particular day, depending on where you live in the SF Eastbay and you need to order two days before the delivery. This place is totally worth it!
