Now if your not a sauce person order it on the side cause they lay it on thick. The garlic and jalapeño is good and spicy. Definitely a lighter sauce than the Yaung Nyum sauce. Homemade goodness here, sweet, tangy, sticky, everything you want in a sauce like this. But it can be a bit much tho. The seaweed rolls are always a delight. And I’m glad the coleslaw was the classic creamy style. Nice size portions well made food just remember to get the sauce on the side and you can’t go wrong.
Second time ordering from Korean Soul Chicken. This time got a full order (16 wings) of the Yang Nyum Chicken wings. Yang Nyum has this sweet and savory sauce with a little bit of spiciness to it.The wings are pretty meaty and large so theres definite value there. They must be double fried which makes for REALLY crispy batter and holds up to the sauce. If you live close to them, just get it sauced, if you live further away, ask for the sauce on the side and toss it when you get it.Its just awesome to have a Korean fried chicken place on Polk St and i hope they continue to do well.To add: my first order I got half an order of the Galbi sauce and Half order of the Yang Nyum. Galbi is more salty and savory and we preferred the Yang Nyum more.Whats also nice is you can order just wings, just boneless, or half boneless and half wings in one order.TLDR:Get sauce on the side if you live further awayHalf order is 8 wings.Crunchy AFGet the pickled daikon for the authentic Korean fried chicken experience.
The BEST Korean fried chicken in SF! So crispy and moist/tender inside. The chicken from the other restaurants around Nob hill, in my opinion, were too greasy. However, this place fried the chicken right after when the order was placed so it tasted so fresh and and light. Also, the gabli sauce was just right very flavorful, salty and sweet. A 5 stars place!
I'm addicted. I love their variety of sauces. And I think the style and quality of their fried chicken is better than Aria's. My favorite menu item is the deep fried seaweed rolls and the vinegar sauce that comes with them. It's seaweed salad, wrapped in nori, then deep fried... amazing.
Great mom and pop place that has added KFF to their menu. Food is solid and the family that runs it are always very kind and thoughtful. The food is solid, including the new fried chicken options (was actually quite good), and it hits the spot if you are craving Korean food in the neighborhood.
