Dottie's True Blue Cafe - San Francisco

Be prepared to wait for awhile specially if you’re in a group. But there’s plenty of “entertainment” around this area so... The food is awesome. Cornbread with jalapeño jelly has the sweet/salty/spicy thing going. The portions are ginormous and the service was excellent. Not sure why other reviewers are slamming this place for service. It’s not that kind of place. The space is funky eclectic and fun. The obsession with Valentino in one of the bathrooms is kitsch at its best. Be prepared to seat with total strangers (and make new friends! in the communal tables. This is the 5th time I’ve been to Dottie’s; it deserves a historical landmark.

I had the special, a breakfast sandwich on a homemade biscuit and pancakes. The dish looked to be prepared with care and all of the ingredients were so tasty and fresh right down to the fruit cup that was served with the sandwich. Delicious : I can't wait to go back again

There's is a long line but it is a must try. Don't forget to look at menu board, it changes often. Staff are super helpful. Always seem to be there if you have a question. The waitress was even sweet enough to help w the ketchup bottle. It's a small thing but great service is in the small details.

Line was out the door Sunday and we got there around 1130. Just an FYI for those wanting to try to get there early especially on a Sunday. We ended up going Monday instead and the food was great. They have a lot of options on the menu.

Great food!! Waited 45 minutes in line the other day and it was worth it!!
