This is a fantastic spot for gatherings, and it was exciting to see that the cast of the show we attended (42nd Street Moon, Sail Away, opening night) chose to celebrate here. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere has a charming bohemian vibe. It’s a wonderful alternative to the usual fare on Halloween.
This restaurant has a pub-like decor and offers a menu inspired by Central European and Italian cuisine. We tried the roasted duck, which was authentic and very delicious, as well as the strudel, which was decent, and the split pea soup, which we found quite tasty. While some items on the menu seemed a bit questionable in their inspiration, it was refreshing to see dishes that at least evoked the spirit of the homeland. Our server, who was originally from Italy and very friendly, unfortunately did not speak Czech. While you shouldn't expect an abundance of traditional Czech dishes, this place is certainly worth a visit.
Really great Czech cuisine! We were here twice and the food was delicious everytime. Especially the “segedin goulash” was brilliant! Highly recommend when you re in SF. Taste it. You ll love it! Definitely! Btw the Pilsner (Plzen fits the food amazingly ;
A true bohemian gem in the heart of the financial district. Boasting plus sized liters of Czech brew and traditional dishes. Sit inside or out and gaze at the Transamerica pyramid whilst enjoying a frosty brew at happy hour.
