Today i had an encounter with the security named Sam at front desk. I was unaware there can not be a contractor on the weekends but he showed up to just take a look at the windows. no tools, no ladder). We did not argue just explaining the situation and within ten seconds Sam was extremely aggressive and unprofessional with his words. His behavior made me feel threatened and scared when he stood up. I think HOA need to really examine this issue. Mark came and spoke to us politely and said he spoke to him in private about his behavior but i need to make it known that his aggressive behavior towards the guests is unacceptable when we were just trying to clarifying the situation in a calm manner. I will reach out to the owner and make everyone aware of this issue. It is best to remove an employee with this type of behavior that makes people feel uncomfortable. If i had known this is how they treat their residents while doing their job, then i would've never stayed here. And as someone who is looking to purchase property, this is a NO for me. If i am paying this much HOA forA place to call home- look else where. Because they sure miss the mark on making their residents feel welcomed to come home to.
This place is hell on earth. I was ripped off buying a unit for $715,000 and after trying to resell it for over a year, only got an offer for $560,000! On top of losing a ton of money, the HOA people kept raising dues during covid even though we couldn't use the pool or gym. BTW the pool and gym are awful anyway! None of the neighbors are nice and the neighborhood is dangerous. Avoid at all costs!
I'm writing this review for two reasons: one, because La Galleria has long been my home and because I am part of a community I am proud to be associated with. I've served on the BOD on and off for years now so I can personally speak to the integrity of both our HOA staff, finances and the overall state of our building. Any home requires ongoing work and maintenance and a large condo association is no different. I feel a responsibility to ensure anyone who is viewing these reviews and making a decision on whether to call La Galleria your home, please consider doing so. We are a fantastic location with a lot to offer. These negative reviews written by others here are representative of the lack of character and sense of awareness for what it's like to live in an urban, multi-unit environment. The second reason I am writing this review is to address the person named in one of the aforementioned reviews. Mahara Espinoza maintained our building for years and did an incredible job serving us. For those of you in the property management industry you probably already know her by incredible reputation though for those of you who do not, I can assure you that the negative statements presented about her are not accurate in any way.
I don 't know what Bt S and cat are talking about. Their reviews are old, but I wanted to say that almost everything at La Galleria has been updated in the last 2-3 years: including the management, custodians, front desk staff and a new Board of Directors. Not to mention, there 's been a major overhaul of the building, as well... From the new, energy-efficient, high-speed elevators to the massive exterior restoration and paint job just completed (Fall 2018). The building is in top shape; I have lived here for the past 7 years. As for Mahara Espinoza, she was quick to take care of everything when I needed her. She 'd usually get back to me within 5 minutes of my email being sent and have a repair person in my place same day. I miss her, but the new management company is good, too... Also, I agree with Patricia F. the residents are great neighbors. Lastly, no one has ever been allowed to drill, or do any kind of repair work, in the middle of the night. It against the rules and they are strictly enforced by our 24-hour security guards.
