OMG, this place is super dope! We ordered 3 dishes and 2 drinks.dish 1: Niloco Mo Ako: slow cooked sesame-soy shortribs, garlic rice, 2 sunny eggs, green onions. Meat fell off the bone, nice vinegry bite to it and the rice was killer! It was al-dente, like half cooked, and top 2 I ever had. No words can justify it. It's simply great!dish 2: ube hotcakes. Super yum. Ube sauce is thick and tasty, yet not overly sweet. Hot cakes were tasty with perfect moistness.dish 3: pork adobo chilaquiles with corn tortilla chips, salsa verde, refried black beans, sour cream, cotija, pickled onions and jalapenos, 2 sunny eggs, cilantro. Winner! The lime juice soaked into the chips and pork but it was not overpowering at all. Just enough amount for every bite to be yummy. For drinks, the Calamansi Mint Mojito was 6.5 and Ube Horchata was 5.5 out of 10. Horchata needed more cinnamon and sweetness; it was on the bland side. This is a very popular place and we had to wait 20min for an outside table since we had the dog. Food came out nice and hot but being outside, it does cool down fast (no fault of Alnico of course We are definitely going back (with the dog! to try their other dishes and coffee, which looks great.
TL;DR good brunch spot to go to at least once, just to say you've been here. Would also be a solid option to take any out of town friends to.My friend and I arrived around 11am on a Sunday and waited only 20 minutes! What we got: Ube Vietnamese coffee: lowkey worried that the ube cold foam would be too sweet and to our delight, it wasn't. Coffee itself was good n strong : Ube pancakes: these were definitely the star of the show. Each bite was filled with floofy, ube goodness. Bonus for the fact that it wasn't too sweet either, which usually deters me from ordering savory brunch items Grilled branzino silog: This is a fish dish FYI I honestly ordered these by accident cause I thought these were the sausages lol. I'm still a fan, especially cause of the sour dipping sauce on the side. Had it not come with the sauce I would have tapped out early from how rich it was. I think the garlic rice could have left me with more stanky garlic breath thoI personally think that if we had to wait for longer (I'm talking about like 45+ minutes I don't think it would have been worth, so I'd recommend getting here on the earlier side.
I'm Filipino, and I certify this place to be a contemporary cultural banger. I love this place for brunch with friends! For the daytime weekends, there's about a 30 45 minute wait. It's a cute spot with lots of natural light, very buzzy fun. FOOD REVIEWSTito boy (8/10) savory from the broth, with some sweetness from the corn. Ube hot cakes (9.5/10) MUST GET!!! Fluffy clouds with ube and coconutty goodnessUbe iced coffee (6/10) it's fine not the best
We came here right when they opened on a weekday. It usually is packed during peak hours and weekends. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The place is very open and spacious. The food was amazing. I couldn't stop stealing a bit from my daughter's Ube pancake. The latte was also good. The Vietnamese coffee with Ube foam is also a must order here. I would definitely come back when we're in town.
