Fantastic! The food, service, and friendliness of staff. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were attentive during our visit. Hadn't tried Indian food for a long time, so I didn't know what certain menu items were. The kindly took their time (even though it was busy) to answer my questions about menu items, combos, etc. They even offered us a doggie bag/box before we even realized we needed one for leftovers. During dinner, my boyfriend and I interacted with the owner (the mom) of the young men working in the back. Found out it is family owned. And it shows! Regardless of the appearance inside, this place is worth visiting! The lamb curry is very flavorful, as is the chicken curry. Just delicious! I couldn't stress that enough!
Absolutely amazing food you will not be disappointed
AMAZING. If I lived here I would come every week and try everything on their menu. Naan, amazing. Lamb and chicken combo, amazing. Chicken tandoori, amazing. I cleaned off my plate and I was so full but I wanted more!!! Service isn't the friendliest but they're not rude either. Due to covid they have outside seating and some inside seating but honestly that's fine. Location a little weird but when foods this good, it's worth the drive. Price not bad. It's a taste that I will crave. Tastes incredibly authentic and soulful.
This is the BEST Indian food at a super reasonable price in San Diego. It’s a hole in the wall and as other reviews state the service is isn’t the most notable, but in this case I don’t even mind because the food is well worth it and then some. I’ve been with my roommate, friends and family a combined dozens of times. Get the lunch or dinner combos, you’re missing out if you don’t try the chicken makhani (butter chicken) we can’t help but get it every time now that we’ve tried everything. The meat falls apart in your plate and in your mouth, I’ve tried so many other Indian places where their meat is dry and gets stuck being chewed in your mouth, not Punjabi Tandoor. I haven’t even mentioned their amazing chewy stretchy naan and the yummy rice pudding desert cup that are both included with the lunch/dinner combo meals. If you haven’t tried this place yet go immediately, and if you haven’t yet, then get the chicken makhani in your lunch or dinner combo!
