Juan Tequila Bar Restaurant - San Diego

The steak was disappointingly thin—almost like an EDD card! It was so skinny that I thought it was beef jerky! They also didn’t provide any hot sauce. On a positive note, the enchilada was quite tasty, I’ll give them that. They had a strobe light flashing at my table, which was quite odd. To top it off, there was "bottle service" with some members of the Terror Squad taking up space at the bar. They automatically added a 20% tip to our bill, too. And as if that wasn't enough, we were stuck watching the STADIUM sports channel—talk about a throwback! It reminded me of my time in prison, another place known for its cheap prices and bad food.

The service was excellent, the food was just okay, the drinks were fantastic, and the music by Pablo Cantua was perfect.

The Mahi Mahi tacos are incredible—packed with flavor and accompanied by delicious sauces. The tres leches dessert was by far the best we've ever had. It features a unique and mouthwatering homemade coconut jelly that complements the cake beautifully. I give it a 10/10; you absolutely have to try the tres leches cake! You won't want to miss out on this!

Happy hour is a solid deal, the sliders were delicious and the house tequila is smooth. The servers are incredibly nice and informative. The live music is a cool addition!

I never leave reviews like this but this has to be the worst dining experience I have ever had. To start, this is a club/bar not a restaurant. The music was painfully loud and we had to ask 3 times to have the music turned down because we could not hear the waitress or our group. We had a group of 11 celebrating a bachelorette party. We were very excited to get some drinks and celebrate but unfortunately we did not get acknowledged for 25 minutes and did not received adrink until 45 minutes after we sat down. Our food took over an hour and a half to come out and several meals were missing. The sushi was gas station sushi at best. When we provided some feedback to the manager after this experience, shedid nothing but make excuses that this was a busy weekend. As a big group looking to celebrate we were looking forward to ordering several drinks and appetizers plus dinner but as we sat and watched staff brushing past us time and timeagain we were only offered one drink. It should not take 40 minutes to make a margarita in a tequila bar.
