Casa Machado - San Diego

Such an awesome place!! I was there with family to celebrate the anniversary of my grand father's life after his passing last October. He LOVED this place for many years! We had a large party of about 14 people and the staff did an excellent job. We were also perfectly timed with the Miramar airshow! And got to watch it from our tables! The portions are huge, so you WILL be leaving with a box for later ; Kid friendly, lots of windows on the north side to watch the small private places to land and take off UP CLOSE!. Awesome decor and ambience.

Good food, great atmosphere. Incredible service! Update April 2024: come back often for the seasonal specials, updated drinks and always delicious food. Update, end of September: everything is still amazing, food/service/atmosphere is terrific. I'm still coming here at least a couple of times a month.

Went for lunch again today. They always start you off with freshly made tortilla chips with salsas and carrots. We always get the combo with a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada or chili relleno. The beans are excellent. I can't tell you about the rice because I always get beans only. The food is delicious. They also have great guacamole and flavored margaritas. The service is A and the staff is always smiling and friendly.

The restaurant has two entrances: one near the elevator via the private party access and another through the main building. Be sure to check in with the hostess near the bathrooms upon arrival. Let's take a moment to appreciate the delicious carrots served with the chips and salsa—they were so good that we requested seconds, preferring them over the chips! The meatball soup was accompanied by rice, beans, and a tortilla, while the chili relleno was light and prepared perfectly. The bathrooms were clean, and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The reason for my lower rating is the menu, which is printed in brown ink on brown paper, making it very difficult to read in the dim lighting. A larger font with clearer text would be beneficial. The decor is eclectic, with spacious booths and tables available. I recommend arriving early.

First time in this place that we really loved (09/13/2024 11:30 am) Very good service they offer, efficient and everyone very friendly, the dishes arrived quickly and everything was great, we will definitely return with you.
