We got to sample the delicious drinks thanks to the generosity of the great staff members. They had great outdoor seating with shade and misters to help relieve the Texas Summer Heat. I would highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant to everyone that visits the San Antonio area!
Really good brisket! BBQ sauce was a very tasty compliment to the meal. Yes, the prices are above average, but the taste and the atmosphere make up the difference. There is no indoor seating, but once the sun goes down, this place is awesome! Plenty of tables and a stage for live entertainment. We visited in the middle of the day and they do provide plenty of water misted fans and a portable swamp cooler. Most of the tables are shaded.I will definitely visit again... and will plan it after the sun goes down.
We walked here from the rockbox around 4pm on a Thursday and walked right passed the entrance because it says skylinebar ? oops There was one other table (that wasn't employees here and plenty of seats in the shade as well as misters, TVs, a whole vibe at night I'm sure. The staff was friendly and welcoming when we entered THE MEAT HALL ?I'm from the BBQ capital and This menu offers all the classics and for some reason I went with the brisket Mac and cheese. It was 13$ or 14$ I believe. For me, the Mac and cheese alone had what seemed like a lot of garlic powder? The cheese was creamy and the noodles done just right but the flavor threw me off. It wasn't bad just different and overpowering when not eaten with the brisket to even it out. if you are an adventurous eater you'll probably love it! Over all the brisket was delicious and rich but the sauce wasn't up our alley either, more sweet than what we are used to. Our chicken was smokey but on the dry side. Pickles were bomb as always. Our Bartender was friendly AF and The watermelon boost he made me was the star of the show! I should of ordered 3 and got a brisket taco for 5$ for what I paid for the Mac and cheese and side of potato salad (20$ ? will definitely be back when we return to the rock box for shows! Thanks for a great time and new experience.Kid-friendliness: Lots of space to eat and enjoy with kids.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat, but everyone's food looks delicious. I'm definitely coming back to try it! The main reason I came was to see my Girl Candace Hernández-KnepperWon ? her first pro Fight! Congrats, Candace!! ??
Overpriced for the quality BBQ you get. Bun was hard and meat wasn't anything special. it was about $17 dollars for the sandwich and a small side with a small thing of BBQ sauce. The only nice part about the location is that there is plenty of outdoor seating.
