This was by far the best dining experience we've ever had; the food was exceptional, perfectly seasoned and beautifully prepared. I would also like to extend a personal thank you to your staff—Amber, Juan, Mark Angel, and everyone we interacted with—who were all incredibly professional and courteous. They made us feel right at home. Amber, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our evening was special; she is truly a star! Juan was an outstanding server as well. The staff at Bonahan's, including the waiters, chefs, and kitchen team, were all professional and extremely attentive to diners with dietary restrictions. They crafted incredible flavors using ingredients that are not commonly found on the menu. I called ahead and was treated with kindness and respect. When I arrived for the meal, I was delighted by the service, food, and overall atmosphere.
As always come, Bohannon‘s food is a notch above all of the rest. However, it’s the service that makes this place special. Everyone from the janitors to the bar staff to the weight staff to the managers, they go above and beyond to help you out. I left my wallet on the bar last night. When I realized it this morning, everyone went above and beyond to help me find it. Every penny, was in it this morning. Bohannon has always been special, but today it is even more special! Way to go Bohannans for hiring, the absolute best, friendliest and trustworthy staff in San Antonio.
From the moment we entered Bohanan's, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of elegance and warmth. Our evening was expertly guided by our attentive server, Steven, whose knowledge and friendliness instantly put us at ease, setting the stage for a memorable night. We kicked off our meal with a classic wedge salad. This dish featured a refreshing mix of crispy iceberg lettuce, rich blue cheese dressing, crunchy bacon bits, and diced tomatoes—a simple yet delightful way to start. The freshly baked bread and butter served alongside added an extra comforting touch. To complement her salad, my wife chose a blackberry vodka sour. This beautifully crafted cocktail perfectly balanced the sweetness of the blackberries with a zesty punch of vodka, making it an excellent choice for her birthday celebration. For our main courses, I selected the 12-ounce New York strip, cooked to a perfect medium, while my wife opted for the New Zealand Tasman king salmon. The New York strip was a dream for meat lovers, expertly seared to retain its juices and flavor. The salmon was exceptional, boasting a flaky texture and subtle smokiness that truly highlighted the chef's skill. Our side dishes of lobster creamed corn and macaroni and cheese were both generous and deliciously flavorful. The lobster creamed corn offered a wonderful blend of sweetness from the corn and the richness of succulent lobster, while the macaroni and cheese provided that ultimate comfort food experience. We concluded our meal with a warm bread pudding à la mode. This comforting dessert paired wonderfully with local ice cream from Justin’s, a cherished San Antonio establishment with over 40 years of history. It was a sweet and fitting way to end our evening.
