I was excited to see vegan options at this lively, traditional-looking restaurant, but the enchiladas were really disappointing. The omnivores in my party all agreed they were nothing like enchiladas... the sauce was a pale, unappetizing yellow-greenish color that was lemony but otherwise bland. The tortillas were only half submerged and browned, too tough and dry to even cut with my knife. The veggies were ok, decent fresh greens, but the flavor was just of smokey char and salt.
Planning a brief visit from out of town, I spent some time researching a fun dinner place to go with local omnivore friends who don't know the vegan-friendly restaurant scene. My online search suggested Marinitas would be the best option, and the reality exceeded my expectations. There were several vegan entree options, all clearly labeled and described on the menu. I ordered the Tacos de Verduras; the veggies were a wonderful mix of flavors and textures. The atmosphere and the drink selection were just what I was looking for as well.
Marinitas is great for a nicer dinner or as a great restaurant to meet friends. Very lively and great atmosphere! Only a few vegan options but the food is amazing and the margaritas are wonderful!! Definitely recommend:
I think that the name literally translates to "Marinites", a 70's term for us liberal hippie hot tubbers.
