The tea leaf salad is ok, your basically paying for the dressing, the rest is just chopped lettuce and a little veg. There are some crunchy bits and a slice of lemon but really not worth the price. And the garlic chillie shrimp has an odd flavor I really didn't like. The coconut rice was pretty good but ultimately the most Ive spent on a meal with the least reward. Very disappointed when it has so many star ratings.
I had a spectacular experience here last night on the first day of my trip. The restaurant was highly recommended by friends and I'm glad I came by! The service was very friendly and seemed genuinely excited to see my enjoyment of the food. My Family is Congolese and the dish reminded me of what my mom used to cook growing up which the server and I talked about. The ginger lemonade was also like a drink I used to have in childhood. The coconut rice was spectacular and added a touch of sweetness to the catfish curry. My experience here felt like a warm hug, truly. Highest recommendation.
I've been to Burma Superstar a few times now, and their quality of food and service has stayed the same topnotch. You can't make online reservations, so you have to get there and join their waitlist. We went for dinner on a weekday and had to wait 15 20 minutes to get seated. Our server was nice, friendly, and attentive. He suggested some good items from the menu. The chili lamb was the highlight of our dinner. It was so good that we ended up ordering another regular chili lamb dish. Though I wish there was more lamb than the chili. The lamb was juicy, and the dish was spicy. The oh noh kauser soup was creamy, zesty and delicious. The noodles were very soft as well. Sesame tofu was packed with flavors. It was sweet and tangy as described in the menu and tofu was cooked well. The superstar noodle salad was very flavorful and refreshing. It's a cold salad. Overall, it was a great experience. This place never disappoints.
Finally got a chance to visit this original location for some authentic Burmese food. We weren't disappointed and really enjoyed the few dishes ordered on this Saturday lunch. We came before 12 o'clock so no wait for us. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
Ordered lunch delivery from here and the tea leaf salad was TINY!! It was so disappointing. My client had a larger salad that looked a lot more satisfying. Mine was embarrassingly small With all the added fees on top the total was almost $70 for 2 salads and a small appetizer and it was just not worth it.
