フィードバックを提供するThe restaurant has a lovely patio and an appealing interior design. It can get quite crowded on nice evenings. The food was decent; I ordered the chili Verde, which I found satisfying. My wife enjoyed her jumbo spicy margarita. However, the service was rather mediocre. Our waitress was hard to find, even though there were four other servers congregating outside. My wife, who frequents the place, noted that the service is usually hit or miss. I attempted to order a second drink and just managed to get service in time; unfortunately, my draft Modelo arrived after I had already finished my meal. I did appreciate that they offered a Mexican beer on draft, as it's not something you come across very often.
My wife and I ordered two chicken taco salads, but they arrived completely soaked in what the owner claimed was cheese sauce. He insisted that this “cheese sauce” was standard for all taco salads. I disagreed, recounting my experiences at other restaurants where taco salads came topped with shredded cheese. The owner challenged me, asking who was right—customers in the dining room or the kitchen staff? He implied that the taco salads were always prepared with this sauce. We didn't even get to address the fact that there was no chicken in our salads. As you can see in the picture, all the liquid pooled on one side of the dish. Despite his claims, a quick search for taco salad recipes confirms that shredded cheese is the norm, not this dubious "cheese sauce." On top of that, the service was subpar. We were late to a gathering of eight but still had to wait an unusually long time for our sodas, which never arrived. My wife had to request chips and salsa herself. After taking our order, the staff returned to ask if we were ready to order again. Our food finally came, but I had to remind them about our drinks, and others in our group asked for refills. One member of our party ordered dessert, but their bill arrived without it included. We ended up waiting for both the dessert and a revised bill. So, let's keep the discussion going: When you order a taco salad, do you expect shredded cheese or cheese sauce?
The food was quite tasty. The grilled steak chimichanga stood out as being better than the fajitas. It's definitely an improvement over other mediocre Mexican restaurants on Hampton. However, we did wait around twenty minutes for our check after finishing our meal, and there was a period where we didn't have any water. The prices are reasonable. Overall, I would rate it 3.2 out of 5.
Had a party of 12 and it was about a 15 minute wait. I wanted to watch the MLB playoffs so I asked to change it. They told me I had to find the channel on DirectTV so once I found it, I let them know and they changed it. I ordered the La Catrina burrito which had: 12? flour tortilla stuffed with grilled steak or chicken, rice, beans, fries, and pico de gallo. Topped with cheese dip. A bit dissapointing because no rice or beans on the side. Burrito was super light and was not really stuffed. My girlfriend got a Burrito Carne Asada which had flour tortilla stuffed with grilled steak and beans. Served with rice, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The food was alright. We also had a Modelo Negra and 2 Margaritas: Mango and Pina Colada.
My first time going and I live nearby. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The color scheme and design is very inviting. My waitress Rebecca was very friendly and helpful. The draft Medelo beer was super chilled and AMAZING!! And my food, ohhhh my, my dish gave me happy feet. As a red meat eating American I enjoyed the options of meat and veggies in the dish. The flavor was mouth watering. Just simply delicious. I went around 12 so there wasn't a huge crowd which was perfect. I sat in peace and enjoyed an amazing meal. I forgot the name of it however, if it comes in that black lava bowl, that's the one! If I can post a picture here, I will. Have fun and go enjoy a good meal today.
