La Passion Des Mets

Great family run restaurant serving food from the local region in the neighbourhood of Saint Laurent food quality and service was wonderful, with both a regular menu and also a specials board; Found this little local restaurant via Tripadvisor recommendations was looking for somewhere good to have a late dinner with the family after attending Stade De Nice for Rugby World Cup matches. Recommendations did not disappoint! We booked a table for eight for Saturday evening choosing inside table, as we weren’t sure how busy noisy the terrace on the street would be; as it happens the restaurant is on a side street, so would not be bothered by traffic; Parking outside the restaurant is difficult, due to its location but there is free parking at Hotel De Ville Town Hall which is only a short 5 10 min. walk away from the restaurant. The restaurant serves food local to the region of Nice and our party enjoyed their choices immensely the 7hr Shoulder of Lamb was very tender ; the Gnocchi with Beef was delicious, as was the Salade Nicoise, Rossini Burger, Tagliatelle (Special) and Ravioli. Saturday night was busy but service friendly and good. We enjoyed the food and service so much we went back for a second visit, on the Wednesday evening.

I came a few nights ago and had a Niçoise traditional plate of food. I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. The food was delicious, alongside the wine and creme brulee

Wow! The lamb was to die for. Happened upon this place on our last night in France. Very close to our hotel. The staff were engaging and friendly, the chef is exceptional...... Don't hold back, treat yourself!

My husband, adult son, and I were in Nice for just one night and had dinner at La Passion des Mets. We wanted great local food and TA said this was the place to go. We had a fabulous meal that was prepared and served by excellent staff. We shared the squash flower fritters to start. Then my husband had the 7-hour cooked lamb, I had the rabbit and my son had the gnocchi with beef. Everything was homemade, delicious, and beautifully served. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. We can't wait to eat at Sophie and Nicolas' restaurant when we return to Nice!

Just around the corner from the best western. Friendly and welcoming filet de daurade excellent. Salade nicoise to die for.
