L'Oeuf Dore - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

The tables are not very clean, as everything on them is sticky. The coffee lacks flavor. However, the staff is friendly and smiling.

I enjoy dining at bustling restaurants as it gives me a good impression of the establishment. On my recent visit, I opted for the lunch menu which included Veal liver with home fries, soup, coffee, and Caesar salad. My companions ordered the Club sandwich which was also served with salad and potatoes. The service was top-notch and the total bill for the three of us came to $30 plus tip. I must also mention that St. Jean-sur-Richelieu is a charming small city with a variety of services, shops, and eateries. While the city has a predominantly French-speaking population, we were always warmly greeted in English. We are looking forward to exploring the riverside this summer. Kudos to the wonderful city and its friendly residents.

One of the best breakfast places I 've been to. My plate, co-vedette was under $8. Came with 2 eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, french toast and fruit. Delicious! Best french toast I 've had. The coffee pot on the table is a nice touch. The service was quick and served with a smile. Must recommend this place!

This restaurant is noisy and not very atmospheric, but it is a great place for breakfast. They leave a coffee pot on your table for self-refills, and you can also get fresh squeezed orange juice for an additional fee, which is worth it. The eggs over easy are good, but make sure to ask for your omelet to be fully cooked. The homemade creton is excellent. I ordered a special that included 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, creton, and delicious house-made beans and fries. My wife ordered eggs, bacon, home fries, and an extra side of beans. There are many other tasty options on the menu, such as fresh fruit dishes and crepes. Our bill was reasonable at $25 for 2 people before tax and tip, considering the amount of food we received, the quality, and the quick service. We plan to come back for breakfast often when we are in the area and would recommend this restaurant.

Always popular due to great value. Good prices for breakfast with coffee included. Lunches under 8 dollars include soup or tomato juice and dessert. Not a fancy place and it can get a bit noisy but that is off set by the fair value of food with good presentation and price.
