Le Sauconna - Saint-Jean-de-Losne

We've dined here several times 2014, 2015, 2017 and again now 2022. The menus while not vastly different from many places does have enough variety for most palates and will do omlettes for vegetarians. The wine list while not large does have a reasonable range for most budgets and service is pleasant. We've always had goo food here which is wholesome, well prepared and fresh without being exceptional....that's not meant to be critical it's fine! If anything the place lacks it's pleasing decor and a warm ambience and the inside dining especially is rather drab and lack lustre. We would return but it needs a lift!

This came recommended by Le Boat with whom we had chartered Le Vision. Weather was terrible with some of the heaviest rain we had seen for a while. The snails for starters were good which we shared. Sadly their entrecôte was not available so had tartare(exactly how it should be prepared), beef bourginnone in the lightest of pastries(sublime) and a burger without bun and cooked rare to perfection.The rain was so heavy as we left that Madame kitted us all out in bin liners for our walk back to the port! We’ve booked in again for next Saturday when we return.

Booked for 8pm, with little French they still understood and a lovely table waited us. Service was Good, food Good...prices acceptable. Mussels were small but lots of them and cooked to perfection as was the Frites . Hamburger we asked for rare medium..and that 's exactly what we got. Good French Rose again reasonable price. Good atmosphere in the Resturant You could feel the love... Will go back again.

Never disappointed. Always a welcome up. High quality price. Beef meat that melts in the mouth. Products of excellent quality. I recommend
