Bains de Saillon

Ate here before going to the baths. The baths are excellent but the restaurant is poor. It is expensive, the choice is limited and too gourmet if you are eating before or after going swimming. The service is also a bit slow. To our children's...great excitement we also saw a mouse run across the restaurant floor !

The hamburger's meat... we asked for well done, they came still red inside.... taste was really not exiting for the price... French fries were good. Salad was ok Open red wine, not good... We are sorry to say that we were disappointed... we ate better...in the Old Bourg of Saillon in the Rest. du Veux-Bourg.... cheaper and better...

We had a late dinner of La Caprese salad and my husband had the burger which came with great crispy Swiss fries and a dressed, mixed salad. Both were fresh and delicious, well presented and we didn't have to wait long. The waiters were extremely attentive and polite. I think the lighting could be a bit more romantic but otherwise it was a pleasant experience.

I was a bit skeptical after reading some reviews about slow service, but went because it was a convenient spot for lunch after a morning at the baths, and because it has a good kids menu. It far exceeded my expectations in that the waitress, Sarah, was friendly enough, spoke English, and was timely in everything she did, the food came out surprisingly quickly, and we all (4 adults and 2 kids) enjoyed our food. We'll definitely be back - thank you!

I don't think we would come here if it were not for its convenient location at the Bains de Saillon. The Baths are by the way going through a renovation so the restaurant has been moved to slightly smarter settings and been renamed 'Mistral'. The old location with the view over the baths is a construction site now (we didn't notice the work - didn't bother us either in the restaurant or in the pool)Prices are quite high but the food is good. You can see their menu from the internet site of the baths. They have a good kids menu though. Although the service was friendly, we found it frustratingly slow (kids food took much longer to arrive than ours - suspect they may have forgotten our order, and we had to remind them a few times we wanted to pay and go)Overall an ok restaurant.
