フィードバックを提供するI got a tavern pie, and loved it. I was in the mood for a thin crust, and after considering a run to SF for Tony's in North Beach, I decided to stay closer to home. I got the supreme, and the pepperoni cups, cheese to sauce ratio, and crust I ate without dipping sauce (which I never do) were all on point. Sorry no photos, lol! Next time!
In somewhat of a random sequence of events, I ended up at this place for a pizza party put on by the DOT. Don 't ask...The good news is the place was rolling out a large assortment of pizzas for the occasion, so I figured I would cram in a new review. Why not? This location serves two styles of pizza, thin crust (which for some reason is called tavern style and pan. Apparently, they originally started by serving pan, but now the thin crust has become just as popular. For this occasion both were on the menu, so I tried them out.The thin crust was good, and notably, they serve the small pepperoni, the same style as Mountain Mike 's. If you 're into that style of meat, but prefer a thin crust, I can definitely recommend this place with only one caveat.Whenever a place makes a thin crust the pressure to pull the pizza at the right time is paramount. If they miss, the pizza can end up with some sections that are like cardboard, and the pizzas that I tried had a few hot spots. The pan was good as well. It 's similar in style to Roundtable 's pan, but notably made from sourdough. The sourdough starter isn 't that old yet, so the flavor was not overwhelmed, but you can tell it 's there.Overall, the place was a bit small, it seems like the kind of place you go when you intimately know the people you 're with whom you 're seated. I can see it as a good place to catch a game, although, I can 't vouch for the drink prices, as no alcohol was served. In the end, it 's a solid 4 stars, at least for the pizza.
Yumm, I love the crispy thin crust pizza here. One of my favorites is the cubano pizza *drools*. The pulled pork with all the toppings and cuabno sauce is just perfect! Definitely recommend stopping by and dining in to eat your pizza straight out of the oven. The workers here are super friendly and quick. Great place to check our for pizza and drinks. They even have TVs, and it's perfect for football season or whatever sport season it is, lol. There's outdoor dining, too. Really great vibe here. I definitely recommend the cubano pizza or just do a half and half pizza :
Love the pizza, hate the noise. The room is so damn loud that they really need something to absorb the sonic boom here. I noticed it the first time with a full house which partially helped and then a second time even worse with only one other table in the place, too. True, that other table kept barking and topping each other while celebrating. The ceiling here bounces every sound here. The music tends to favor Title Fight and other post post punk. Put it this way: the second time we took ours to go and I doubt we 'll be back. This is a shame because the pizza is creative, flavorful and satisfying. There 's a solid Chicago influence, at times, with the ingredients 'The Wrigleyville ' . Other places and flavors are also represented here 'Pride of Philly ' . The first time here I ended up talking afterwards with the owner co owner? . Likable guy with a clear passion for what he does. Wished he was there the second time. There 's sometimes some interesting beers on tap though over half of them were out on my second visit. Until they fix the sound, I 'd get it to go in the future or try somewhere else.
A great first experience at this awesome sports bar and pizza place! Truly a top tier pizza and hidden gem in San Jose. I randomly showed up for the 49ers game and got the wings and the only open table. The place was a bit packed! A nice couple sat down at my table and got the pizza brisket pizza and another delicious one! They were so nice and shared their pizza and Mozzarella cheesy bread, which was just as amazing! This place had great food, great staff, and friendly customers. This is a crowd I would hang with again! Only downside was not a ton of seating inside and only a one person bathroom, but there is outdoor seating also. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.
