The Original Mels Diner - Sacramento

Someday I left this place without saying I won't go back. I ordered to take out a burger (Deuce Coupe) well made, asked for bacon on the burger (it does not come with bacon) and specifically asked that my burger be cooked well and cut half (so I can see if the burger was well cooked), garlic frries and a pineapple milkshake. My husband ordered onion rings. Go home... no bacon on the burger and the burger was super pink on the inside. This order costs $36.00....for essentially a burger and a milkshake. I didn't complain about the price, but I complained about the price at this point because I paid for a well cooked burger and now I'm able to wait for this burger to come out of my oven. I guess Mel's is just good for breakfast food and burgers cooked rarely. Absolutely terrible. P.S. the pull-out container was not vented so that the hot burger, sweated the pull-out container and the burger bungalow was extremely soggy and inconspicuous.

I love Mels! They have delicious sandwiches and burgers! The price is set right. The environment here was lovely, our waitress served us quickly and checked on us a few times. I recommend the San Francisco Sandwich! Amazing! I would come back.

Old school American diner style eatery offering a selection of all day breakfast and classic burgers and sandwiches. I like the vintage old time interior decoration including the mini jukebox at some of the booths. The food was decent and the menu offered a few choices but nothing impressive. The service was excellent (it was early Saturday morning and there were nearly any dine-in customers). Plenty of free parking in the lot outside. One complaint i had was my toasts were too soft for my liking. Would prefer them to be more crispy. Other than this, no other complaints.
