After trying the location in K-town in LA, I was excited to find there was a location in San Diego! Located in the Zion food court, the main downside of this location is that you can't pick the food yourself the way you can at the others. They did do a good job otherwise, as the lady helping me always asked how many I wanted of each item I picked. When I didn't see some items on display, I asked about them and the lady gladly went in the back to get it. My favorite things to get in this are the tripe, lamb, crown daisy, tofu skin, and the thick glass noodles. There's a ton of other great stuff to mix in. I prefer the dry hot pot preparation, with a spice level 3. Note--the spice level 3 here is like a spice level 2 in LA. I didn't notice intestine or quail eggs as options here. The to-go utensil packet was a pleasant surprise bc it came with a spoon, a sealed pair of chopsticks, and a sealed wet napkin. Overall, the food was still the same great flavor, but the experience was just a bit less exciting. Would definitely come back though, and would also come back to get to go as well!
This review is long overdue given that we come here pretty often whenever we have mala cravings. We always get the build-your-own dry mala hotpot mild spiciness and young chow fried rice; both are flavorful and have great wok aroma wok hei . We also tried their kungpao chicken once, but we were not impressed so we went back to our usual menu. The downside about this place is that it takes forever for the food to come out, so don 't come here if you are in a rush.
It's expensive and tasteless, the first time and the last time!
My husband and I have to wait for our order for 1 hour, they’re too slow!!!! I would love to give them no stars if possible.
