The Rancliffe Arms - Rushcliffe

Not sure what the door staff dress up as at this establishment but they aren’t very friendly. Police were there too! Not a nice environment atall.

So on the strength of coming over with my friend to sample the Tuesday menu, which we enjoyed, we decided to sample the Sunday carvery, having heard good things about it we booked a table for 12pm. We arrived a bit earlier people had come in before after us the service seemed disorganised. We were told to wait in the seated bar area as the rest of the staff weren't ready as yet which wasn't an issue but then we saw other people walk in after us seat themselves at tables! After a few minutes of this, we went over to the bar as it seemed we had been forgotten! We were then seated after a few more minutes checking we had booked. We had a drinks order taken drinks arrived but no one came to take a food order for a while. We didn't want starters but it would have been nice to be asked. Someone finally came to the table said we could go to get our carvery I also ordered a takeaway one plus a dessert for my fiance. From then on, the service did improve apart from the card machine going down, this did cause a delay in paying but the staff were apologetic about it. The signal isn't the best in the pub. And now onto the food, the carvery was indeed very good plentiful. There were a choice of meats roast beef, turkey, pork gammon, a really delicious stuffing, lots of vegetables potatoes. It was a very decent roast. Everything tasted good. Hopefully things will not be as chaotic as they were in the beginning for us, should we visit again.

We got recommended here for the carvery and were so impressed! The carvery was excellent and the service was exceptional. We got served by the lovely Brooke. We’ve already planned our next visit, can’t wait

I have visited this pub numerous times over the years as I work nearby and the food has always been of a fairly good quality. The food prices are reasonable, although a little on the higher side, however the drinks are borderline extortionate. You’d be lucky to get much change from a £20 note for three beers, which is very pricey even in this day and age!
