We also ordered their vegetable pancake. Everything was so so so delicious!! The stew tasted amazing, the meat came off the pork bones so easily, so yummy. After the soup was pretty much gone, they then brought purple rice and mixed everything in. It created a whole new meal. Just fantastic. So yeah this place is worth coming here and eating! All in all I would give this place 4.5 stars! The only .5 missing was us not getting our waters refilled lol, but it's okay we could've been more persistent. Servers were nice, friendly, and helpful regardless. Still worth coming again!!!
Came for a quick dinner with my cousins. Food was good. Lots of little dishes (the seaweed and pickled radishes were the best) and had the neckbone soup (every table had this). It was flavorful filled with broth, neckbones, potatoes and veggies. Very filling.
Randomly came here because the place we originally wanted to go to was really packed but I'm so glad we came to Gam Ja Gol. We live in a city where there aren't many Korean restaurants. Korean stew is such a staple when you're craving something warm and I have no problem driving back here. The waitresses were very friendly (and it might've helped that I had a baby they were enamored with). The gamjatang that is for 2-3 people is huge: I think it could feed four if you don't have family and friends with a ginormous appetite. If you order the gol/pot then they do not give you rice until the end so that it can be made into kimchi fried rice. You can ask for the rice beforehand but then you won't be able to have the fried rice unless you pay extra for rice just fyi. Luckily, we went around 6pm and it wasn't too packed but I do feel like it's a place that gets packed.
Best in the area for GAamjatang! Staying is a little short at times so service can be better.
This restaurant's specialty is the gam ja tang pork bones stew). The soup can be ordered as an individual size or as a family style pot that is cooked on the stove top at the table. The family style pot comes in 3 sizes, small feeds around 2-3 people and a large feeds around 6-8 people. We ordered a small $39.99) with a side of noodles $3.50). The soup was so delicious and well seasoned. The pork bones soak in all the flavor from the broth and the meat is so nice and tender. Literally falling off of the bones. There is complimentary rice which you can either ask for during your meal or if you wait until you are done with the stew, the server will come and make you kimchi fried rice. We obviously waited to get the kimchi fried rice. The fried rice is made with some of the leftover soup from the stew, making it extra delicious! Parking: this rowland heights location is inside a plaza with plenty of parking.
