Jimboy's Tacos - Roseville

Always nice to get a boxful of Jimboys Tacos after a long day when cooking is simply not an option. Hot, fresh and good! Love the staff here because they are friendly and smile all the time.

Always love Jimboys. Oh BOY!!!!!!! Today's lunch consists of 2 Carnitas Street Tacos, Bean Cheese Burrito and a large drink on this toasty Northern Cali Sunner day. Anyway, the food is legit, full of great flavor and to top it off, gives discount for Veterans and Public Service responsers with the Senior Diacount. I think it is based on the franchisees accomodation. This location is awesome. They have a breakfast menu and I look forward to try it in the future.

This was the first time I had ate at a Jimboy 's Tacos, since the mid '70s or so, when they opened a shop in Rancho Cordova California. How many years has that been? I was curious to see if the tacos were made the same and...they were! Lol. If you 've eaten at a Jimboy 's, it ain 't Taco Bell. And, I 'm not slamming Taco Bell. I used to eat there many times. Major kudos to whoever trains these folks to make those tacos like back in the day! Oh, yeah. The reason for this review, the food! Staff and food were outstanding! Thanks for taking me back, to when times were a heck of a lot better than now!

This spot is tucked away but their service is awesome and the order was correct. Those are two very important qualities in any restaurant. So I definitely recommend stopping in when you're nearby.

I had really high hopes for lunch today.The new look is warm, welcoming and super clean. However, the combo plate that I had was almost tasteless. It was a bit shocking, actually.I specifically ordered different meats (steak and carnitas) and held off on the hot sauce so I could let the natural flavors come out as the chef designed it.I'm still puzzled about this. Outside of a bit of char, the entire meal tasted like canola oil.This may sound dramatic, but hear me out.If I was a blind man with a fork I would have no idea what I ordered. Even though I got a combo plate, the only difference from item to item was the texture.Honestly, I wondered if I had COVID and my taste buds were shot. Then I came home, had some Tajin and wished that I had brought it with me!Normally, I wouldn't write a negative review like this.Like I said, I had high hopes for Jimboys to be as amazing as the atmosphere. The people were very helpful, and the decor is wonderful. 5-stars for both, but I don't go there for the sparkling floors. I am only giving this detailed of a review because I *want* it to be great!Signed,Hopeful for next time
