Rosedale Bakery

We used to stop by this restaurant on our way home to Melbourne, but after noticing a decline in service over time, and after today's experience, we have decided to no longer visit. Upon entering, we found a queue of 5-6 people ahead of us, which was understandable. However, the two staff members seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to customers. The conversation between them lasted for 45 seconds, with eye-rolling and laughter involved, before they finally turned their attention back to the customers. By the time I was served, the queue had grown to about 12 people. I ordered a pastie that was supposed to contain meat, but it turned out to be a mushy and overly salty filling in pastry. As a long-time customer, I was disappointed and will not be returning. Overall, the service and food quality was very poor.

We left lake entrance early to stop somewhere for breakfast on our way home. We came across the bzkery at rosedale. As it was more brunch than breakfast we decided to get a quick bite to eat. We got one of their pies and a sausage roll. My pie was really yummy and my husband had the sausage roll which he enjoyed. I also got a apple scroll it was really big. Also enjoyable. The shop was lovely and clean and didn't take long to get served.They also had lovely sandwiches etc to pick from.If you are passing through stop and have a bite.

The pastries and coffee were just average, but had room for improvement. The decor is simple and typical for a bakery in a small town and could use some updating. Unfortunately, this place didn't quite live up to its potential due to the lack of atmosphere and service.

My husband and I live in South Gippsland and whenever we travel to East Gippsland, we make sure to stop at this bakery for lunch. It never disappoints. My husband always gets a pie and a cake, while I opt for one of their meat pasties. The service is consistently friendly and helpful, and the food is always delicious. Despite the current challenges, the bakery remains bustling with customers.

Love the vanilla slices here. Easy to see why it got voted number 1! Food always clean, good variety. Staff always lovely. Hope today was a rare occurrence though... only 1 busy lady there working, and my dare iced coffee from the fridge was off, and expired 2 days ago. Not a nice taste when surprised whilst driving. Yuk! Lost 1 star for that. Will review again after a couple more visits. Thanks.
