Waffle House - Rocky Mount

I had a great breakfast at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and eager to serve us. I ordered sausage, eggs, and grits, while my wife had a waffle with a side of bacon. Both dishes were excellent.

They were the only restaurant open at 4 o'clock due to Covid-19 restrictions, but they did not disappoint. The food was delicious. Although you had to wait for the chef, it was a good stop on the way to Georgia.

We decided to grab a bite to eat at this restaurant, and were disappointed by the mediocre service. The waffle we ordered was slightly undercooked, but the chocolate topping was delicious. The chicken in a cheese hash-brown bowl was tasty and fresh, although the hash-brown itself had a strange texture. The service lacked warmth and friendliness, with staff members failing to acknowledge us when we left. Overall, we would rate the food a 4 out of 10 and the service a 3 out of 10, averaging to a 3.

My family and I were hoping to have lunch, and noticed it wasn’t busy . After walking in, none of the staff said Hello, and simply stated that most of their seating is blocked off, we asked of the seating on the side and they stated that is also not a option, they didn’t even try to accommodate us. 3 hungry children and a elderly woman, we decided to leave. Very in welcoming and no sense of urgency. Will ensure that I keep note of this establishment when I’m in town again to not bother stopping due to the unpleasant staff.

Walked in at 1:30pm . No acknowledgement when we entered , every seat not blocked off was occupied or the table was full of dirty dishes. We sat down expecting someone to clean the table and serve us . That DID NOT HAPPEN !!! The next customers coming in cleaned their own table . 2 cooks and 2 servers . Everything about this place is unacceptable !!! Needs new crew , New management , new district manager and all .
