I would have given it 5 stars, with the exception of the lack of reliable setting of a server, who is requesting my group to extra napkins directly at the bat (he is just going to visit another table... we'll call him back after a while and remind him... no excuses are offered. (The management wants the crew to hold a meeting on PR. It's our first time here, so I'm not sure if they really don't give customers individual small plates for their appetizers. Your appetizer platter is really good and very filling, but since we 't have small plates it is expected to be fast around the table unorderly (we end up with a lot of napkins. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Tex-Mex cuisine, but I can say that I find Chuy's food to be scrupulous. Prices are reasonable. The place feels like at home because of the old pictures on the wall. There is a feeling of familiar clutter in VERY colorful interior and its collection of knick knacks, baubles and trifle. The ambience is not one of sterilized chicness... it really feels cozy. I recommend Chuy 's for his good food (we are there at noon on a Wednesday... the food service is pretty fast. Let's hope you get a more attentive server.
The best option for TexMex here in Maryland. We told the manager that we’ve been here in Maryland for about a year and we’re from Texas. We have Chuy’s in San Antonio, Texas but we’ve never been because we have authentic Mexican restaurants. So we were skeptical coming here but I really feel like this is a great alternative. Friendly staff which is unheard of here in Maryland. Great atmosphere. Also, the bathrooms are really clean!
Excellent food, excellent service. all food is said to be made fresh daily and the taste proves it!! great happy hour specials 4-7pm with complimentary nacho car (it 's in the trunk of a Cadillac). An added plus, cleanest bathrooms in rockville! prices are reasonable.
Delicious food. Kind and considerate waiters. Food tastes fresh from the drinks to desserts. Margaritas does not taste like it was made from a bottle! Would recommend!
Went on a Tuesday night with a larger party. Our waitress, I think her name was Ruth, was fantastic. Service was great. The decor was fun, with giant metal palm trees and mismatched chairs. It was unclear to me how Elvis factored into the whole thing. The chips were GREAT, I really love the super thin ones. They brought salsa and some sort of ranch that I didn't try. I got tacos and they were pretty good. I've had better, more authentic food, but these tasted good. I only got 2 for $10 though. I liked that they came with a lot of toppings. The beans and Mexican rice had good flavor. Bathrooms were clean. It was a pretty nice dinner experience. I'd go again if I were in the mood and nearby. It's no taco bar, but it was better than Guapos.
