18 Central Oyster Grill - Rockport

First, food was delicious. It was that perfect combination of food you wouldn’t usually make at home but not so fancy or heavy that you couldn’t eat more than a few bites. Oysters were fresh and delicious with excellent Chef recommendations. We did almost all the apps and sides and they were all really delicious. The pate and mussels really stood out but really, you can’t go wrong. Desserts were surprisingly delicious and not too sweet. The service left something to be desired, however, after speaking with the owner, she was new and obviously did not know how to handle medium sized parties (6). The owner was kind enough to take off our desserts and allow us to determine to tip her (they had originally added gratuity). It wasn’t the warmest or friendliest staff but the food made up for it. Overall, highly recommend! As long as you are looking for good food, 18 Central will not disappoint t! Kid-friendliness: Not a lot of space and I doubt staff would tolerate much

Hostess seemed annoyed we came in around 7:30 without a res. Got a table even though she told us everything was full drinks didn't come for another 45 mins, food came at the same time. I like to have a drink before my food but no big deal. Food was good, the atmosphere was good, we felt rushed out when the server dropped the check before we were finished. Service: Dine in

The most rude uncomfortable experience I have had a a restaurant. The hostess who also handles phone reservations and maybe an owner? She scolded my party of three snidely saying I don 't control the weather I wasn 't the one trying to add someone to the reservation and no I 'm not seating then outside in the rudest tone imaginable. We were first in line hoping to sit outside with total ok if we couldn 't, ask to see if we could add a third to our reservation but kindly understood if we couldn 't. You 'd think I was asking her to clear the restaurant for us. OMG told her we could just keep it for 2 or give it up. She told me to move aside as I did. She became increasingly rude and dismissive so I told her I was giving up my reservation. Not allowing anyone to treat me that way with such a rude and dismissive manner. Glad I saw her true colors and took my business elsewhere. Terrible experience. Wasn 't sure how to share my troubling encounter. I hope this is useful to someone.
