Cranston's Pies - Rockhampton

There pies are awesome ive been in sa for 12 yrs and qld pies are so good and there even better when you add peas i ate here everyday when in rocky ill be back cranstons

I don't eat here often now, but over the years I've had enough of their pies, both savoury & sweet, pasties and sausage rolls, to feel that I can honestly say if you like pies than Cranstons is the place to go. Service is pretty good at the drive through, though sometimes you're left wondering if they know your at the microphone (be patient they get busy). At the window they're pretty good, they have an easy going manner in taking the orders and it means you get what you ask for. If they don't have that sweet pie or pastie you're after they tell you and won't make a big deal of going through the list of pies still available. The drive through window is covered so you won't get wet ordering (though you're in CQ now and you don't see rain nearly enough). If you want to walk in and order over the counter you'll find the tables are usually clean, as well as the toilets, and the service is good. There is often something available to read, e.g. Newspapers, but even so it's not the sort of take away where you hang around for long. Cranstons is an icon in Rocky and you get your fill with a meal of pie, peas, gravy and chips.

Cranston's have a long history of great quality pies. Hopefully the receipt doesn't change. They supply many outlets but their store has a great range. It's actually a pretty cheap and relativly health lunch or tea.

The pies are fantastic! I sampled a variety of fillings and each one was delicious. The pastry was crispy and held the pie together until the very end, which is crucial. I will definitely return!

I've been to this restaurant twice this week and both times they forgot to include my sauce. The pies are delicious, but without the sauce, they just don't taste the same.
