Super happy for the owner and admire her concept. That said, we were a party of seven and there were numerous issues ranging from dirty glasses, food that didn 't make it to the table, wrong beverages, ridiculously long wait time, and not enough light: we had to use cellphone flashlights to read the menu (but that may be part of the intended atmosphere .I highly recommend the calamari! It hit all the right notes: crispy outside, tender inside; overall a light, tasty treat!The portions are super generous! Mussels arrived in an elegant, gigantic bowl (but were gritty ; the porkchop was easily one-inch thick (but dry ; the salmon was a nice portion (but burned--several minutes passed blackened . No apologies for the missteps.Doesn 't look like the current kitchen can deliver on the vision when it comes to larger parties.
Amazing meal and drinks. Highly recommend the scallops, tuna nachos and chicken thighs. If you’re a tequila drinker like me, head straight for a glass of Fire and Desire. The ambiance and vibe is perfect for date night or an outing with friends. Can’t wait to go back for more!
Service was truly disappointing. It seemed there were two staff members, and they did not know which was the bartender and which was the waitress. Tables waiting for checks. They also did not know how to make a Manhattan. Not gonna make it .
I was pleasantly surprised by my dinner experience at Brick Ivy. Despite the low Yelp reviews, my husband and I really enjoyed our time here. Service was friendly and quick. I think they did fix their lighting issues because I didn't find the lighting too low. The ambience was great with the backdrop of the Ivy leaves and intimate tables. Though the restaurant wasn't at full capacity when we ate, so not sure how loud it would get at full capacity. The cocktail I choose was fabulous. Good mix of cognac and strawberry flavor. Their menus change seasonally so I ordered the duck confit with mashed squash, cranberry sauce and seasonal vegetables. I loved the flavors of it and perfect for a pre Thanksgiving meal. My husband ordered the Bolognese and the flavor was good but seemed a bit lukewarm. Definitely order the side of fries (we had it as our appetizer); the thickness of the fries were in-between thick cut and wedge size which we loved. The seasoning was also amazing on it! I could have had another plate of it! Also tried the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese, it was also very flavorful and the cheesiness was perfect. Would definitely come back and street parking was easy on a Saturday night.
