The restaurant has an elegant atmosphere that makes it an ideal spot for a lunch or dinner with friends over mimosas or wine. It’s also a fantastic choice for a romantic outing for couples. We were seated right away, and our orders were taken quickly, with our mimosas arriving in just 10 minutes—such impressive service! I can't wait to return.

We sampled a few mimosas, including a hibiscus mimosa made with their house-made hibiscus syrup, which was delightful. We also tried the chorizo eggs Benedict, chorizo hash, and the classic eggs Benedict, along with the smoked salmon crostini topped with capers. Every dish was exceptional, but the chorizo hash truly stood out. The hollandaise sauce on both variations of the Eggs Benedict we ordered was delicious. Additionally, we enjoyed the French kiss mimosa, which was made with sake. Overall, everything was very good, and we had a wonderful experience.

I decided to give this restaurant a try, and it had a nice atmosphere with appealing decor. However, I was a bit disappointed with the service, especially since there was only one person working on a Saturday evening. I ordered a bottle of white wine, and it came without an ice bucket. I don't mean to be snobbish, but having visited places like Napa Valley, I know how wine should be served for the price. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, and I doubt I'll return. I left feeling quite unimpressed.

Pros: Charming Downtown Location: This restaurant in Ripon exudes charm and coziness, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely meal. Welcoming Atmosphere: The presence of a bar adds to the inviting ambiance, providing guests with options to enjoy a refreshing drink alongside their meal. Efficient Service: With reservations, our table was promptly set up upon arrival, and Dean, our server was attentive throughout our visit, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. He was was not only professional and personable, checking on us regularly and even kindly taking our group photo. Spotless Cleanliness: We were pleased to find the restaurant impeccably clean, from the table settings to the restroom, this is a must in my books! Delicious Cuisine: Every dish we sampled was excellent. We started with the deconstructed bruschetta, AMAZING! I had the shortribs with the recommended wine pairing, CHEF'S KISS! My friends had the specials, FRESH AND TASTY!... Even the water tastes good at A Matter of Taste, it is fresh and free from any unwanted aftertaste! No Rush Atmosphere: We appreciated the relaxed atmosphere, where we could linger and chat comfortably without feeling rushed or pressured to leave. Cons: None: We couldn't find any drawbacks during our visit, making it a truly enjoyable dining experience from start to finish... unless you are looking for fast food, then this is not your establishment. Conclusion: In conclusion, A Matter of Taste exceeded our expectations in every aspect. From its charming ambiance and excellent customer service to its delicious cuisine, this restaurant left a lasting impression. We highly recommend A Matter of Taste to anyone seeking a delightful dining experience in Ripon's downtown area.
