Tomo Japanese Authentic Japanese In Rincon,ga

My wife and I recently moved to this area and were in search of a sushi restaurant. While looking at the map, I noticed several chain restaurants, but we wanted something more unique. We were pleased with the food, ambiance, and service at this establishment. We started off with Fried Gyoza and Yellowtail with Jalapeño appetizers, both of which were served promptly and were delicious. For our main course, we shared the Pink Lady Roll and Fusion Roll, which were both fantastic. The service was quick and friendly, and we look forward to returning to try more dishes from the menu.

The sashimi appetizer Salmon sashimi were truly some of the absolute best cuts of fish I have ever had. The standard rolls (California, Salmon Avacado, Philadelphia Scallop were all great as well. We found the Gulf Stream to be too carb heavy (rice pancake and light on fish and while I found the Wall Street to be a bit oversauced the rest of the group loved it. I was disappointed that the seaweed salad was basically a stack of cucumber loosely shrouded w/seaweed but liked the masago topping. Our server was sweet, but we would have liked to have been offered an extra plate for our edamame shells and had to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce bowls and the process to order a bottle of Malbec was overly complicated though once it arrived the taste and value could not be ignored. Overall the food and politeness of the staff outweigh any of the *minor* complaints we had and if we return (we do not live nearby otherwise I 'd say when we would just order all the chef 's choice sushi/sashimi options because they really do know what they are doing here and the quality ingredients do not need any dressing up with rolls and extra sauces at all.

Tomo is quite delicious, but the staff lacks friendliness. The wait time was somewhat lengthy. The restaurant's facilities are satisfactory. They are currently implementing some improvements.

Mediocre at best. Super long wait to be seated and arrival of food. Over one hour. Chaotic environment. Food ranged for poor to average. Service, aside from the waiting process, was pretty good. Shrimp had the digestive tract left in and was rubbery with a distinct fishy aroma. Local and would not return. C

Newly refurbished interior, but the food quality and service have remained very good.
