Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake, Hillcrest Mall

I went a few days ago it was closed with shield saying will be back in 30min, but no one also appears after 30min. I went back to days later what was yesterday and got chocolate cheesecake. I taste more chocolate than cheese, but I still think good. I have read many hygiene problems during the review, I hope they keep it clean and offer fresh cakes so that people can enjoy in the long term.

There is an INSECT in the middle of my uncle tetsu cake (look at the photos). There is no doubt it was baked with the insect, as it was mixed into the batter. When I brought this cake to show the staff there, she immediately started texting and taking photos of the dirty cake. She was not apologetic and did not even acknowledge me. At this point, she said her manager is not here so she can't provide me with another cake without her manager's approval. I was NOT asking for another cake, I just wanted to show them the insect to ensure this won't happen to another customer. Because I worry for the health and safety of my community, I told her I need to notify York Region's Food and Safety department the staff then shoved another cake into my hand apparently not needing the manager's approval anymore. Honestly, if you don't want food poisoning, DO NOT come to this Uncle Tetsu location at Hillcrest mall. It is unsanitary and their customer service is extremely poor.

I?m so glad they made a store close to me, but don?t expect them to cook it there as it is a distribution store, that?s why they have limited buy rules, so it is on you as a buyer to find the best time to get there if you want fresh delicacies. Overall a great brand and even better cheese cakes.

Great little store to buy the highly looked for delicacy. Much less busy location compared to elsewhere. Clean, customer friendly fast service. Incredible fluffy, tasty cake that melts in your mouth. We bought a cake and it was still warm, what a delight.
