I should have been concerned that lunch time and every other restaurant in the area was busy but this one was empty. Service was mediocre but when you go to pay there is a sign that you need to tip in order to eat in?????? That’s a 1 star review at best!Give good service with great food and I’ll be happy to tip you but NEVER demand or expect one.
Tried the hot cheese fried chicken. It was crispy, cheesy, very garlicky, and juicy!! The meat itself was heavily seasoned and salty, so I recommend that you purchase/bring a drink. Luckily, I ordered the rose lychee soda with my chicken. It was quite refreshing and helped cut the greasiness of the meat since It was a little oily. All of the rose was at the top so I didn't taste much of it until the end. Unfortunately, the cheese inside was all on one side of the chicken, so the other half didn't have any. There was also about a 15 minute wait for my food, since it is made to order!
Vancouver has so much authentic Chinese food it's crazy. We walked past this place so I took a mental note to see how authentic it is and I'm happy to say it's very authentic. I believe the original one originated from Taiwanese night market as street food and then it spread quickly in China. The signature dish or order is the big fried chicken fillet. When you see the word bug you generally have a preconceived notion of how big a chicken fillet would be but I bet you will still underestimate how big it would be. It's humongous! It's also fried perfectly so no complaints there. I don't recommend the fried mushrooms much mostly because it's decent but nothing to write home about.
A bit slower but at reasonable speed and price. Don't street parkings around end walkable to bus stops. A small sign so I almost didn't see that it was in that area. Good fried chicken and definitely satisfied my cravings but not the best fried chicken I've had in Richmond. The Hot Star fried chicken in Taiwan is much better
Chickens cooked well and juicy but the service here is a joke. They put such little sauce on the chicken as to not make em soggy i guess but when you ask for extra they scoffed at me. Dont go here if you dont speak chinese. They will disrespect you
