Grotto Osteria la Strega

A cutie restored old house with witch-Med decoration, in a small village between bellinzona and lago maggiore. the place was full of people (good sign and the flat screen was with the recreation. it seems that this is a popular place to eat and see sports games. we had fresh (fresh! salad with some garnel, good to begin, red ravioli, cooked with butter and sage leaves and cut calf with mayonnaise thunfischsoße. the eating tasted pretty good, only what I got confused were the (valent?! raviolis because these are sold by a famous discount dealer. anyway, a good place to lunch or dine (if not with special gastronomic requirements away the larger city crowds with friendly service and domestic ambiente away from home.

Gnocchi anna’s best (coop) ravioli mamma migros I expected something different than a place that accumulated many different excellent reviews.

Wonderfully a hidden gem. we love katia and their small grottino. cozy environment and amazing authentic tessin dishes (no pizza, they will not miss any pizza at all! and a great little wine selection. we are back and back again: they should try ‘la Strega’ when in the opposite, if they like good food, they will love it:

We had lunch for 2 days in July 2018 in this small, authentic italian restaurant, Food was great and Ravioli with rasberry was fantastic. It was a business visit and would like to visit again with my family during holidays

We arrived at 18:20. Sat down outside. One other customer present. Waited 5 minutes and then went inside to disturb the patterns and let them know we were there. About another 2 minutes later, the woman came out to us and announced that they wouldn’t...start cooking for another 10 minutes. No offer of a drink or menu or a few olives or small snack to pass the time maybe. It was more like just sit there and don’t annoy me for the next 10 minutes. So we got up and just walked off. It’s been a long time since we’ve done that but it felt good. The restaurant advertises that it’s open from 09:00 until 00:00
