The drinks menu was quite limited, offering just a few cocktails and beers, along with some wines that were mostly lower-tier but priced quite high. Overall, this is a decent spot for a meal if you're in the area, but if you're after truly exceptional Thai cuisine, I would suggest seeking out a small mom-and-pop restaurant instead. Aroi offers a variety of delicious vegan options that are clearly marked on the menu for easy ordering. I usually opt for one of the curries, swap out white rice for brown, and add some fresh vegetable rolls, plus maybe the spicy soup. The prices are quite reasonable, making Aroi a great choice for a quick bite or a longer meal with friends, complete with good food and wine. If you’re in Rhinebeck, you can’t go wrong choosing this restaurant.
I had the green curry with sweet potatoes and tofu. I requested the waitress to make it very spicy, and the spice level was perfect. However, the sauce wasn't as flavorful as I had anticipated, and the portion was a bit small.
My boyfriend ordered the Pad Kee Mao, which was excellent with just a hint of spice. I went for the Chu Chee shrimp, requesting it to be Thai spicy, and it was absolutely delicious!
However, I wanted to mention that I've noticed a different smell with the fresh rolls over the past month. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think it might be the rice noodle. I'm not sure if you've changed the type or brand, but we definitely preferred the previous recipe as there was no smell then. My husband doesn’t mind it, though! LOL! We are so grateful to have you guys in our community. See you soon!
