We were hoping to find an authentic German "gasthaus" in a smaller town or city. Sometimes these places look charming but the are, in truth, on the mediocre side. Not this one. It features evening service daily except Monday and extra hours for Sunday afternoon. Local people and families frequent the Merzbacher Hof. The menus is not extensive, it features a variety of meats (including horse sauerbraten seasonally), a nice bar with three beers on tap plus wines and liqueurs. The outdoor dining is wonderful on a mild summer night. On weekends you may need a reservation. English is spoken by some of the staff and you will be made to feel welcome.

Super delicious, thanks for the portions are nothing for the figure. You can eat two days of it. But I ate it because I didn't want to share it.

As always, steak was prepared directly on site with onions, salads and fries. The dishes of my accompaniment were also visually appealing and high quality. In addition, the service of the owner pair Thomas and Andrea is always friendly and accommodating. Clear question!

As always very nice here. The service is very friendly and helpful. I find the dishes (natural cuisine) very good, tasty and cheap. We like to come back.
