フィードバックを提供するCafe Rio is the best. Sadly everyone knows that so the line is always really long but all the employees work quickly and efficiently so the line goes decently fast. The food is delicious no matter what you get, especially the sweet pork tacos which are only $1.99 each on Tuesday or whenever with your BYUI card. They also have the best ice (it’s the pebble ice like sonic) which is what gets me to buy a drink every time I’m there. They also sometimes have a survey on the recipe which is great because if you fill it out you can get a free dessert or chips and salsa. Such a deal! They also have a fantastic loyalty program and an app. 10/10 recommend.
Cafe Rio is American Mexican food my husband. I don’t usually like Mexican food, but I love the sweet pork! As my husband said it’s Americanized, it’s understandable that it’s the only thing I like because it’s not very Mexican. I love the sweet pork quesadillas the best because I don’t need to get the beans that I don’t prefer. It’s sad because I was always pressured into picking something at first when I haven’t been to Cafe Rio much, and I got the sweet pork burrito. I didn’t enjoy it due to the components I didn’t like. Glad I discovered quesadillas! They taste the best when still warm.
Monday night nightmare. They just ignored customers in line for 15 minutes while they caught up on togo orders. Long delays in cashiering because of bottleneck with to go orders while food got cold. Don’t go during peak times. Or maybe order to go on app because it seems they deprioritize customers in line.
We went in around 9:10pm. This location closes at 10pm. The cold table was broken down ready for after close cleaning. The food was left out on a food cart for awhile. As our food was being prepared one of the workers was scooping out nasty chunky green water from the cold table and into a bucket. The sound, smell, and sight of soggy cheese floating in green water left us gagging. It was disgusting. To top it off my husband’s food was sitting in the splash zone. Everyone in line was side eying each other completely grossed out. I couldn’t believe the complete lack of awareness of the manager on duty. I left with a complete loss of appetite.
My wife ordered a meal here on the app. It said it would be ready between 6:10-6:20 (was ordered at 5:50ish). When she went in, they told her the carne asada would be ready in a couple minutes. They finally got the order to her at 6:50, and gave her a “free meal coupon”. The coupon expired 12/31/19. Is it some kind of sick joke to give her a coupon that was over 3 years expired?
