フィードバックを提供するWe went to the restaurant for an event with Santa and the Grinch from 10am to 12pm, expecting them to be well-prepared. Unfortunately, our server only came to our table three times in the two hours we were there. We arrived at 11:45am and didn't get to place our order until 12:30pm, feeling like we had been forgotten. Despite the restaurant clearing out, they ran out of many menu items. The manager did apologize for the delay, but did not offer to refill our waters or get more drinks. I am 8 months pregnant and we had 3 kids under 5 with us. By the time we left, the restaurant was empty. It's disappointing because they have great menu options, although they are quite expensive. We paid $28 for one waffle and some chicken. However, the poor service experience has deterred us from returning, whether for casual dining or future events.
My experience at this Matchbox location was quite disappointing. There was only one server for the entire dining room, and everyone else (hosts, bartenders, manager, back waiter) had to pick up the slack. Our server seemed disinterested and was chatting with other staff instead of attending to our needs, such as clearing tables and refilling drinks. The ambiance was also lacking, especially for a Friday night. The light over our table was out, so they provided table lamps instead, which was odd. While we have enjoyed dining at other Matchbox locations, we will wait some time before returning to the Reston location.
Well we hadn’t been in almost a year and I must say it was pretty bad. Understaffed quality not good. Not sure who was making the pizza tonight. We used a gift card that they gave us for a terrible service and meal at least 9 months ago. You know I would say it was even worse this time. The staff was working hard to handle a some what busy place We will not go ever again go back Edie
The waitress was really nice but had a hard time understanding some of the questions or requests for drinks so the bartender had to come over directly. It wasn’t that big of a deal but helpful if the waiter has an understanding and can communicate these things themselves. Additionally, she didn’t inform of us a portion size for one of the dishes so it was replaced by the manager. Truly appreciate the manager rectifying the situation with ease since we were celebrating my birthday.
The restaurant was nearly empty on a Saturday evening, and the service was lacking even though there weren't many customers. The music was too loud, but the food was decent.
