Shorebreak Lodge - REHOBOTH BEACH

I am a big fan of octopus. I believe you can tell a quality restaurant by the way it prepares octopus. I went there because somebody told me it was excellent. I always worry when I accept recommendations from others. It was probably the most tender and juicy octopus I have ever had. Prepared and grilled perfectly.

I’ve always loved Shorebreak Lodge Restaurant, but somehow the new owners have made it even better! The interior renovations are cozy, clean, and stylish. My favorite menu item, Shorebreak’s take on surf turf (short ribs and scallops) is still on there with some new options as well. The cocktails are delicious, and the staff is attentive and on point. The new owner stoped by our table several times to chat and see what we thought of the renovations. Take it from a local- this is a great Rehoboth spot!

Wanted to like the restaurant as it is under new owners and had been there many times under the old owners. But the “special“ crabcake was small portions and way overpriced. $58 for two small crabcakes with small portions of sides (which were also plated badly. is just too much. At the very least the cost should have been disclosed when the special was mentioned. 

We had a wonderful experience during a busy Memorial Day weekend. Started with fabulous drinks by Lauren at the bar; and then moved to our table for dinner. We tried multiple shareables that were delicious including the hummus plate and shrimp ceviche. We tried a variety of entrees ..all were so very good- shrimp and grits, pasta, shrimp with quinoa vegetables, and burger. We finished with sharing multiple desserts including the cheesecake and warm chocolate cake....all great!! Owners stopped by multiple times to check in which made us feel appreciated. We will be back!

Love the “new” Shorebreak! Ben and Diane are wonderful hosts. They truly want you to enjoy their place. Lauren is a great bartender and the service is seamless. My favorite appetizer is the mushroom bruschetta. I could make a meal out of it. I love that some of the entrees are offered as small plates. I had the delicious short ribs and risotto, and after the bruschetta it was more than enough. Shorebreak is now a regular stop for us.
