Red is the BEST bartender in town, we traveled all the way from Eau Claire Wisconsin and he’s been making our stay more welcoming everyday! You can tell how much he truly cares about his customers and the business he works for, this guy deserves a raise- keep him around!
Spending the night in Red Lodge on our way to Yellowstone tomorrow. Stopped in here for a couple beers, Phish on the juke box, what more could you ask for? Many thanks to our bartender Bodhi!
I have finished Crossing The Bar. Of course I 've always loved all the bars in Red Lodge. With 2 exceptions. Which leave a wide variety to choose from. The Bull N Bear is a favorite. I 've also attended all the churches. I 've taken Catholic Catechism with friends who just wanted me too. Tho I never took First Communion in the Catholic Church. My stepmother insisted I was confirmed Lutheran. After I had been baptized Southern Baptist. On Easter Sunday in 1968. A pretty big To Do . Tho it was in Powell Wyoming. While living with my mothers, mother, The Queen Of The Bible Thumpers. My mothers wishes were Baptist. Her sisters husband was a Baptist Preacher. If I didn 't go to church with a friend I went to a funeral, a wedding or a babies Christening. I have made it to all of them. As well as the funerals which were held at Olcotts Funeral Chapel. A fabulous place, I might add. I also attended many baptisms. I loved it all. Church has always been intriguing to me. Maybe because just within my own family there was such a chasm of different beliefs and thought processes on organized religion. I can attest every church is different. Just as every bar is. Especially in Red Lodge Montana. My Great Grandfather home steaded out Luther way. My Grandmother was born there as well as my father. Red Lodge is home. Red Lodge is where I restore my soul. New people are always welcome and our old friends become more dear as time passes. If you read Crossing The Bar you might just have a new understanding of so many things. At the least you will have much to think about or just forget. Jim couldn 't have written it any better. It 's always good to ask questions and contemplate the many answers. Praying helps you catalog the answers you think your getting. Time and more prayer helps you accept the answers that are apparent and undeniable. Especially about God. God has a way of putting you right where you need to be, when you need to be there. Just as I was in Red Lodge week before last. Blessed to be home for Hank Cole 's funeral. A dear friend of my fathers. My father born the December before Hank. Thank You God, for Jim and Nancy Johnson. You have blessed our community again. You can never have to many herders, when the flock is so very vast and multi dimensional. The thing I have noticed about folks in our neck of the woods is. Most seem to believe in God. Even if they have no understanding of Gods Grace. Gods total intent for their complete salvation. I have found in my travels all roads lead home. You can go anytime you choose. So Jim, we need a sequel. Why are you still there? At the Bull N Bear. I 've heard tell. Tho your explanation would be good to know. I bet it would be most entertaining and intertwined as well.
Excellent burger. I went all in and got the burger with everything on it. Lettuce, pickles, onions, peppers, jalapenos, fried egg, tomato, bacon and cheese. I would definitely recommend this place for good eats.
