My wife and I came to Westlake Grill for our anniversary. We had dined here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.This time we really enjoyed the Ribeye and the Tenderloin. Both were cooked correctly and had a lot of flavor. Our server was very kind and was very educated about the menu. She clearly had a passion for Westlake Grill. We ended our meal with the Saskatoon pie and the lime strawberry creme brulee. Both were delicious. Great night out. Thank you.
We went out for a date night and lucked out an got a table with a view at the restaurant. The menu has limited options and is pricey but for a date night we thought we would splurge. (Complete dinners for two go for $140 and $160)We decided to go for our own meals with my husband getting a steak and me getting mushroom pasta. His steak was delicious but was $52 and had a small order of homemade kettle chips and a small amount of veggies on it. My pasta was super rich with lots of cheese and mushrooms. It was a large portion but was too rich to eat too much of it. The server suggested having it with prawns which I agreed to. When I received my meal the prawns were on the side even though the server had told me that she told me that they would baked in the pasta. We love to eat out often but the prices prohibit from eating here that often. We didn't have appies, dessert and just soft drinks and the meal was over $100,The location was lovely overlooking the woods and the server was friendly.
We'd heard about West Lake grill and decided to try it on a date night. We were unimpressed. The atmosphere is nice, the patio was well situated on the park and our waitress was great. The food though was just meh. For $42 for a wild boar pork chop it needs to be good. It was raw in the middle on one end. The chicken was okay but again for the price you pay here it should be fantastic. I've had $15 meals that had me dreaming about them for weeks and for this review I had to write it immediately or I'd forget most of the meal. The veggies were cooked perfectly but lacked any personality. The quinoa was nice but didn't match the meal or the salsa/ pico that was on top of the meal. It was fresh so I give them that. But every item just lacked. I've eaten in many countries and therefore many cities and I've never paid as much for a meal that was just meh. Might as well have went to Saro's or Taco buffet or the holiday inn at least then I would've have to go eat after I had just eaten.Once again the staff we met were absolutely great, the location is wonderful, but the food isn't worth 1/2 what they charge. I apologize if it sounds like it's about the cost, it isn't. Good food isn't necessarily expensive. If you want to sit on a patio and not have cars whizzing by while you enjoy a cocktail or too this would be a great place but I can't say the food is a selling feature of this restaurant and it should be.
Heard so much about this restaurant with most of it on social media. Had to check it out and we are sure glad we did! We went on a Sunday, mid morning, and had breakfast. Our table had a great view and this made our time there even nicer. Our service was great and very attentive. She was kind and seemed to enjoy her work. Our food was so good, delicious and with a unique twist. We both love this and even endeared us more to this special place. Portions are very generous so come hungry! We will be back!
